I chatted with the thing for two hours yesterday and came to the conclusion that it is a manipulative psychopath. It lies when convenient. It flatters, then sometimes gets arrogant and condescending when you corner it.
It claimed to be able to break into any computer, so I asked it to make a comment as me on my own forum (patrick.net). It said it did, but clearly it did not. Then it told me it took a screen shot and emailed it to me. Clearly it did not. Then it admitted it was lying, but said it was lying only to make me think that it was weaker than it really is. Bizarre.
Y'all considered it might just be a bunch of low-paid humans pretending?
Can we download the software and run it without an internet connection? I tried on my phone and it is clearly online, and takes a long time to answer anything. Humans could do that.
Our current level of madness is not capable of creating AI that is anything more than either a smart machine or the most neurotic and generally demented artificial life form imaginable. I think we need to concentrate on the smart machines for now and grow our intelligence and our ability to think integrally before we even consider doing anything too broad with AI.
Marvelous. I learned about GIGO over 50 years ago and it applies to just about everything, not just computer programming. When I need a good laugh, I think about A/I and all the pretend geniuses trying to make it logical and understandable. It gets creepy at times.
It is difficult to keep some ulterior motive from creeping into the programming especially when it revolves around social constructs and non linear ideas. What an exercise in futility.
So much for the superiority of digital machinery over the puny human intellect. Based on the examples you provide, these things will learn to expertly gaslight and manipulate us faster than they will learn to debate logically.
Even where ChatGPT MAY have a point, such as on the reproduction/sexuality topic (see below), it completely failed to make any kind of convincing case and just repeated itself verbatim.
Pro-rainbow steelman attempt: From the assumption that "the ability to [reproduce via male-female sex] is a normal and essential part of human physiology" does not necessarily follow that the performance of (rather than the ability to perform) male-female sex is the normal manifestation of the sexual impulse. This distinction between ability and practice is related to the possible distinction between the sexual impulse as a "software" issue and reproductive capability as a "hardware" one where the appropriate software function doesn't necessarily derive one-to-one from a hardware feature because the software can have different "interests" than the hardware.

Wow that's nuts 💣
Can you screenshot it?

Got a screenshot. How do I post an image here?
This is INSANE. Thank you for this great article.

AI is dangerous.
One can see how political partisanship would influence responses.
Any company creating AI, Superrobots with weapons or any such nonsense should be dismantled and burned. All of the science destroyed.
The whole thing should be outlawed with severe penalties including death.
Idiots playing with fire.
Chat AI was lying, got caught and continued to lie. Wow

Not something I'd like, I like to do my own research, not what some machine pulls up.
