I have noticed that there are many more topics or observations that seem worthy of writing about but wouldn’t be enough for its own article, or I don’t have enough time to write a full article. Therefore, I am going to try and write once in a while a compilation of “quick takes” that can cover a bunch of short observations or points.
Why are people unaware of Paxlovid?
“Experts” in the medical community are trying to figure out how to raise awareness of available FDA approved covid treatments, specifically Paxlovid (Pfizer) and Mulnopiravir (Merck). Apparently, there is almost no awareness in the general population that these exist.
They really ought to look at Ivermectin. If Paxlovid was genuinely safe and effective, there would be a substantial degree of awareness, because as people are helped by it, they tell their friends, who tell their friends and so on. This is why there is some amount of awareness of Ivermectin - because there is an army of people who were saved by it. A successful treatment for the most visible medical condition in history would spread from word of mouth if it was actually effective, especially buoyed by an unprecedented amount of marketing sponsored by the federal government.
Partisan “Fact Checkers” are Scientific Information
This is what currently passes for "science:"
Online misinformation is linked to early COVID-19 vaccination hesitancy and refusal
This study is a font of insanity and thinly-veiled apartheid. Dr. Byram Bridle wrote up a brilliant evisceration of this junk science:
There is one observation that I have, regarding how they determined what constitute a source of “misinformation”.
From the supplementary materials of the study:
"To analyze the spread of low-credibility information, we identified all URLs shared in Twitter posts that originated from a list of low-credibility sources, following a large corpus of literature5–9. We employ the Iffy+ Misinfo/Disinfo list of low-credibility sources10, which is based on information provided by the MediaBias/Fact Check website (MBFC, https://mediabiasfactcheck.com), an independent organization that reviews and rates there liability of news sources. As defined in the related methodology, political leaning is not a factor for inclusion. The list includes sites labeled by MBFC as having a “Very Low” or “Low” factual-reporting level as well as those classified as “Questionable” or “Conspiracy-Pseudoscience”. The list also includes fake-news websites flagged by BuzzFeed, FactCheck.org, PolitiFact, and Wikipedia, for a total number of 674 low-credibility sources."
So basically, they defined “misinformation” as whatever a bunch of wild-eyed hyper-partisan hacks said it is.
Is ‘Long Covid’ in Studies Often Really ‘Long Vax’?
Study Finds Double-Vaccinated >2x as likely to have long covid:
Prevalence, characteristics, and predictors of Long COVID among diagnosed cases of COVID-19
Statistically significant predictors of Long COVID were - Pre-existing medical conditions (Adjusted Odds ratio (aOR)=2.00, 95% CI: 1.16,3.44), having a more significant number of symptoms during acute phase of COVID-19 disease (aOR=11.24, 95% CI: 4.00,31.51), two doses of COVID-19 vaccination (aOR=2.32, 95% CI: 1.17,4.58), the severity of illness (aOR=5.71, 95% CI: 3.00,10.89) and being admitted to hospital (Odds ratio (OR)=3.89, 95% CI: 2.49,6.08).
"[T]wo doses of COVID-19 vaccination (aOR=2.32, 95% CI: 1.17,4.58)” means that the adjusted Odds Ratio (we’ll skip the probability concepts) for the incidence of long covid in double vaxxed was 2.32x the incidence in the other group (I am not sure whether this is comparing to unvaxxed or unvaxxed + 1 dose).
While the study authors are remained perplexed by this ‘unexpected’ finding (“An observational paradox in our study was that the participants who took two doses of COVID-19 vaccination had higher odds of developing Long COVID”), I suspect that this is more likely than not capturing the occurrence of ‘long vax’, which is pathologically and symptomatically very similar to ‘long covid’.
Pfizer/BioNTech Claims that Neither Safety or Efficacy May be Sufficiently Proven to get Approval
In BioNTech’s most recent SEC filing, their was a startling admission on page 6 (page 8 in the PDF, emphasis mine):
We may not be able to demonstrate sufficient efficacy or safety of our COVID-19 vaccine and/or variant-specific formulations to obtain permanent regulatory approval in the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Union, or other countries where it has been authorized for emergency use or granted conditional marketing approval.
So… after their product has been injected into more than a billion people, and despite the medical community’s repeated denouncement of any *questions* about the safety of the vaccines as propaganda… Pfizer/BioNTech says that they might not be able to demonstrate that the vaccines are safe or effective enough to get full approval. Approval from an FDA that is essentially acting as Pfizer’s marketing division, and that has thrown any sort of real standards out the window regarding the covid vaccine products. Remember, they can’t just put things in an SEC filing that are specious, because that would be criminal fraud.
Either one of two things is true:
(A) Pfizer/BioNTech are run by crazy propagandists intent upon sabotaging their own most successful product ever.
(B) Pfizer/BioNTech are aware of the reality of their vaccine as neither safe nor effective. I wonder what sort of info they are sitting on right now, possibly that may be buried in some of the documents that the FDA is being forced to disclose?
Great summary, thanks
#LongCovid is a lot of #LongMask - especially in kids! I had a cold or allergies in Spring ‘20 that lingered. I started wearing a mask out to stores since I was a pariah. The mask turned my cough into bronchitis and bacterial pneumonia. By mid-May, I had a full exam w/X-rays to confirm. Was given an Rx and told NOT to wear a mask. BUT when Gov Sununu opened all stores May 11th he suggested that they require masks! Every time I wore one, my waning symptoms returned with a vengeance. After another round of meds (plus steroids, inhaler, allergy meds) and a cardiology referral for heart palpitations, my symptoms started returning after another masked outing. This was now Aug. I stopped and refused to wear a mask again. The pneumonia finally resolved but my lungs were trashed until April ‘21 when Dr Twitterverse recommended NAC. It was just getting dinged by FDA and pulled from Amazon so that clinched it for me. I bought some and in 5 days my 13 months of gunky lungs were over. I bought several bottles of NAC and distributed them in the covid kits I made for family and delivered to friends and acquaintances as they came down with it and were given no other help. Meanwhile, I never tested + for covid and even did an antibody test. I guess Vit D at 70ng/ml is enough to stop the virus but not mask-trapped bacteria inhaled into the lungs. Anyway, when I hear long covid symptoms, it sounds just like my mask-damaged lungs so that’s why I tried to start the #LongMask hashtag, but I’ve been suspended from Twitter so you can’t find my efforts. 🤷♀️
