I never paid attention before. But during covid I started to notice the fake medical science and the unbelievable stupidity of some of the "doctors". That's when I stopped listening: it might be funny when it's unconsequential (glaciers and all) but can be deadly when those people make medical decisions mandated to all of us. Caveat emptor.

I laughed so so long, I should probably thank themπŸ˜‰

*sigh* really with the degraded level of academia, particularly over the last decade, and more so over the last 3-4years, secretly I've been hoping that these "academics" have all been ironic. Subtly thumbing their noses at the corridors of prehistoric power. πŸ€”πŸ€¨πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

But......no, the DEI, CRT and practically all of climate science are simply that idiotic.πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

After 40 years in higher education as a researcher, professor, administrator, etc., I retired just before the pandemic.

When science becomes a matter of mere symbolismβ€”in service to the Global Revolution, of courseβ€”everything becomes vapid, loses all practical meaning, ceases to provide something useful to society, and the whole enterprise devolves into a pedantic star chamber.

I recognize very little in today's academy. It is foreign to me, an insult, something no longer worthy of public support.

This is just too painful to actually, studiously read, top to bottom. I am sorry for time and life lost, but appreciative, for the author's dive into these inanities.

Also gave up long ago trying to find a means to contact institutions, or 'scholar/authors' such as these useful idiots. They carefully keep any means of open communications hidden. I can understand why.

In your opinion, can it be salvaged?

I've been very pessimistic on that point, but I'm seeing a lot of energy being put into initiatives to try to tackle some of the root problems. With how things are I'm hoping that technological developments just make academia obsolete, otherwise I don't see the west maintaining competitiveness with the rest of the world for much longer.

This is just the tip of the iceberg … yes pun intended.

The medical field is bending over backwards to promote unqualified individuals based solely on the melanin content of their dermis. These individuals utilize Dr.Google for their knowledge base and cannot think a problem through to determine the BEST course of action!!! ( Not what some Google programmer typed into an algorithm).

DIE

Discrimination

Intimidation

Exclusion

Which is killing patients all over the country already.

I have watched the roundtable on the Mathematical Challenges to Darwin’s Theory of Evolution numerous times. It included David Berlinski, David Gelernter, and Stephen Meyer and was moderated by Peter Robinson of the Hoover Institute in 2019. With bated breath, Professor Gelernter (Princeton) believed that what had happened to the humanities department so far hadn't happened to the sciences. I remember thinking how naive he was. It was already surrounding him he just didn't know it.

"Don't bother to examine a folly. Ask yourself only what it's intended to accomplish."

When the militant irrationality on display in those excerpts is held aloft as a scholarly or scientific accomplishment, it's not because anyone involved believes it. It's celebrated because they know it's neither scholarly nor scientific. When the competition is over who can say the most meaningless, unprovable, unscientific, and evil things, anyone who insists on practicing rationality, objectivity, intellectual honesty, and justice will necessarily lose--and that's what the folly is intended to accomplish. There's only one kind of person who gains from a culture in which irrationality, injustice, and subjectivity crowd out their opposites, and that's the kind of person who's trying to get away with something, on whatever scale is possible to him.
