Cancer patient miraculously survives *THREE* doses of Pfizer AND *THREE* courses of Remdesivir

The rewards of following Science are bountiful indeed

Every once in a while, I come across a study that is so shocking, so profoundly unexpected, where it is nothing short of miraculous intervention. . . by SCIENCE!! (Did you think I was gonna legitimize the anti-science nonsense about religion and Divine interventions?? Hell no!! (pun intended))

In this case, the brilliant clinical team was able to save their patient by scrupulously adhering to the thoroughly researched NIH guidelines that reflect the best expert opinion in the world. Almost as if they were an oracle through which Science spoke or made clear its Will and Intent. This is an example of the daily miracles performed by faithful practitioners of Science. As the saying goes, Following Fauci Forecloses Fallibility. Indeed it does.

Clinical Narrative

This is gonna be a doozy, so buckle up and get ready for a wild roller coaster ride.

Basically, we have a cancer patient who came to the hospital for his sixth round of chemo (another miracle of Science). Whereupon:

On admission, the patient was tested for SARS-CoV-2 using an in-hospital rapid nicking enzyme amplification reaction (NEAR) assay with a nasopharyngeal swab, which was negative. The patient was afebrile and exhibited no respiratory symptoms.

So far so good.

Three days after admission, another patient in the same room developed respiratory symptoms and was diagnosed with coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Therefore, our patient was tested again for SARS-CoV-2 using an in-hospital loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) assay, which, too, was negative.

This is obviously attributable to the top-notch standard of care this patient was receiving.

Unfortunately, even with the best care and the most religious adherence to proper covid mitigation, sometimes Science tests us with the scourge of covid to see if we will still remain faithful to its precepts and dictates despite the [misleading] superficial appearance that Science failed (Science forfend!!):

However, six days after admission, the patient developed fever, and a repeated LAMP assay yielded positive results. At that time, the patient's body temperature increased to 38.6 °C. (101.5 °F) […] The patient was diagnosed as having symptomatic COVID-19 Moderate I according to the criteria of the Japanese Ministry of Health and Welfare, which corresponds to a patient who has a shortness of breath or pneumonia without respiratory failure.

In this particular case, Science had chosen to test this man with the most confounding blow that can be dealt to the righteous Follower of Science:

Although the patient had received two doses of the BNT162b2 vaccine approximately six months earlier and the third dose on day 127 after the infection, both serum anti-spike and anti-nuclear protein IgG and IgM tests were negative at day 92, 114, and 149 after the infection.

Just the pain of knowing that you suffered the dreaded excommunication of vaccine inefficacy can be lethal. But as we shall see, despite this monumental Test from Science, this patient and his clinical team did not falter!!

Returning to the story, the clinical team immediately leapt into action, per the proper Science of treating covid:

Remdesivir was administered for five days (200 mg on the first day, then 100 mg/day from days two to five).

This patient is so lucky to be managed by such a team so devoted to the scruples of Science!!

And the impact was felt quickly:

The patient became afebrile two days after symptom onset. As the patient's physical condition seemed to improve, no nucleic acid detection test was performed to confirm the disappearance of viral shedding.

The recovery imparted by the Blessings of Science was so overwhelming that the patient was able to resume his chemo:

Eleven days after the infection, the sixth course of R-CHOP was administered.

Well, as it so happened, Science decided that this patient should be tested again, to see if his devotion to Science was truly genuine:

Eighteen days after the infection, the patient developed fever.

The clinical team did not realize right away that this was another Test from Science, instead attributing the new bout of fever/infection to the chemo:

Initially, since the fever was considered to be due to R-CHOP neutropenia, piperacillin and tazobactam were administered; but the fever persisted, although the neutrophils recovered to normal levels.

However, the clinical team, being such expert Scientific doctors, understood the message from Science and rectified their error

A nasopharyngeal RT-qPCR swab for SARS-CoV-2 on day 47 post-infection yielded a positive cycle threshold value of 28.

Unfortunately, Science had a tougher test for the clinical team and their patient this time around - now, the covid would be more severe with some pulmonary involvement:

As the patient gradually developed cough and sputum production chest CT was performed on day 51, which revealed bilateral ground-glass opacities in both the upper and lower lobes.

Fortunately, the clinical team knew what to do, without question:

A second course of remdesivir was administered for 10 days, from day 72–81 after infection.

If only we could all be as blessed as this patient was to receive such amazing care!!

But Science’s Test of his fealty was not yet complete. Now, in a much more demanding challenge to their faith in Science, Science threw the ultimate curveball: the Remdesivir - the miracle cure bequeathed by Science - failed!!
(*Of course it didn’t truly fail, rather Science merely withheld its full potency.)

However, repeat chest CT showed progression of bilateral infiltration in both lungs. Low-grade fever and cough persisted even after administration of the second dose of remdesivir.

Faced with this unorthodox challenge to Scientific orthodoxy, the clinical team nonetheless rose to the occasion admirably:

As the patient's nasopharyngeal swab specimen taken 100 days after the infection still had infectious virus, remdesivir treatment was administered again for 10 days from days 102–111 after the infection.

At this show of absolute unquestioning acceptance of the Will of Science, while continuing to faithfully execute the instructions of Science, Science Blessed the patient and clinical team with the full abundance of its awesome power:

After the third course of remdesivir treatment, the patient became afebrile, and his cough gradually improved. The nasopharyngeal specimen obtained on day 114 showed no evidence of infection. Chest CT on day 143 after infection showed improvement in bilateral infiltration of SARS-CoV-2 […] After successful viral clearance, the patient was discharged to another long-term care facility 183 days after the infection. A rapid antigen test performed at the facility on day 200 after the infection was negative, and he did not experience recurrence of COVID-19 after the third remdesivir treatment.

This inspirational tale is a lesson to us all, that we should reinvigorate our unerring prostrations to the Great & Powerful Science. And of course, we can see from here how important it is to never deviate even the tiniest insignificant step from the dictates of Science!!
